May seem boring, but I love seeing what women I admire wear to just there regular everyday places- airport, school drop off. Because the reality is this is the majority of what our lives consist of and the where that I'm usually dressing for too. If I had to just buy one black boxy/ men's fit somewhat cost effective first blazer, what would be your rec?
I feel the exact same way as you, Alexandra! I always love to see what women are wearing in the regular lives. It's a bit hard to write about myself each week - sometimes I feel so utterly sick of myself in mirror selfies. Me. AGAIN. Ha!
For oversized blazers I actually REALLY love men's J Crew! I do a regular fit (R).
I like your simple approach to substack, Meg. I feel like we are being bombarded with things to buy -- who honestly has the time and money to shop that much, or need that much in their closets. Keep doing you. I asked on IG the style/size of your Longchamp tote. Do you happen to remember? Thank you 💛 Maria
Thank you so much, Maria. Lately, is getting harder to write this substack. It's hard to make every week feel interesting --- as every week in my life is not actually interesting --- and instead it's all quite mundane! As I'm figuring this out, how to write this column, this is really helpful feedback. Thank you so much for reading and please keep the feedback coming! I'm excited for spring. If I never saw another coat again the day couldn't come too soon.
I’m forever a fan of your substack approach - no sales pitch, just style on the go. Cheers to a big Dorsey year. I have vowed that once I sell my fashion essay collection - and plot a book tour - I will buy my Dorsey ring as a reward. I’ve been eyeing the DMJ for months.
Invite me to your book tour, Christine! I can't wait to read it. Thank you so much for this note. I really (really) appreciate it. It is very weird to send this column out, every week, based on what I'm wearing. I think any normal person would start to wonder WHAT AM I DOING?
You will get an advance copy and an invite! Honestly, because you express such beautiful throwbacks, the narrative is so much more than what you wore this week — and it is why we all love it here. xx
I started following you because of your looks, not the brands. I love your no fuss no bs approach to this column. It’s the only un-missable one for me.
Thank you so much. You've just made my day! I really am making this up as I go, in my free time, and the comments section of substack makes me feel like there is someone on the other side of my screen. Thank you for saying hi.
Everyday, comfortable style (I’m a Mom of 3) are my favourite posts, so I’m really looking forward to continuing to read your Substack and getting some inspiration from you. Thanks for taking the time to keep up with the Substack. Yours is my favourite!! ❤️
Thank you so much, Clare! I am figuring out what to put in this substack each week and sometimes I have no idea what to write. This is really helpful feedback and it's so nice to meet you. x Meg
I bought my husband the Timex weekender years ago when we first started dating and it is by far the watch he wears the most (red, white, blue stripe)! It really is the most perfect watch! Love the neutral band on yours 😍
Have always loved your approach to your Substack and so glad you're going to continue keeping it simple! Like others mentioned, getting insight into how you're dressing day-to-day and the thinking behind it feels so genuine and relatable.
LoLs I love where you have “landed”/back at the dailies .. it’s terrific.
Am also in & out of airports as a pattern.. so I TRULY love that all of these are taken in the ladies’ room. Like deeply adore it.
Hi Meg.
Also have that metiér weave (the pelland? Or is that the name of my bag style.. mine is more bowling bag/mary poppins zip top).. I guess a satchel? but wow does it take a beating & still look great.
I’m making a January attempt to try on/wear all of my clothing & “no buy” for a spell.. & w all the “oversized” piled together today I look(ed) like one of the urchins in Oliver(!!)
like WTF .. so it’s been super helpful as a catalyst to get rid of even MORE clothes.
Anyway.. the traveling is a heavy lift & such a weird specific home-sick-inducing lifestyle.. so if you see an extra from Oliver at the baggage 🎠 aggressively grabbing her bags whilst tripping over her droopy trous.. give a shout ! XO
Debo, ha! I have a friend who keeps telling me that she can't believe the number of photos I take with toilets in the background. The Metier bag is really made for a trek. She can essentially carry anything. See you at baggage claim!
I actually think I have the size you're wanting in the black color. I took a size up, but probably should have gone one down if you ever want to sell/swap down the line haha. Only wore it once. You know where to find me on the Gram ;)
Hi sameena.. the sportmax coat size a topic of endless confusion for all.. I purchased one & it is an oversized IT38.. (so basically same-ish as FR 38.. kinda OS but a 6 🥰

I agree! I so appreciate the feeling like Meg is showing items she truly wears and has no stake in any of us buy it either!
Thank you so much, Kelly.

Refreshing to see comfortable airport outfits that don’t involve leggings.
Here for a TSA screening in wide leg pants!

It's my favorite watch!
This is the content I like for this space!
Thank you! I am making this up as I go!
Enjoy 5. I’m pretty sure it’s peak human perfection.
It is absolutely human perfection. With a bit of sass!
Ok, I think I’m ordering that watch. Love!
I love it!
I bought this watch for my husband 15 years ago and he wears it all the time!
I totally did too :)
I did and it’s amazing!! Target had it

Love it 🤍
Thank you so much, Carrie.
Loving the watch

Stephanie! It was so lovely to meet you. You're my new style inspiration!
And you mind ;)
@Meg would love to know did you take an IT 38 in the Sportmax coat? Sorry some sites have it in FR sizes vs IT. Thanks : )
I took IT 36 BUT WISH I had taken a IT 38!
Thanks!

Thank you! I have the beige in an IT 38 but got the black in an IT 40 for a little more oversized to wear with big sweaters or blazers underneath
Oh cute. It’s a lovely coat
