What I love about Parisian style is that they’re never reinventing the wheel, they just look timeless, elegant and subtly individual. No need for the latest over-the-top trend, just a favorite scarf tied just so or an amazing vintage watch to show that touch of personality.

This is absolutely true. I find it fascinating, always, because in the U.S. the way that Parisian style is written about is much more formulaic (the red lip, the sweet blouse, the wedge). I do think French style is more feminine than some other areas of the world (for example, Scandinavia) but I have never felt that most articles capture the subtle womanhood that so many women in France wear as so innately their own.

I absolutely adore your style! I know you’re incredibly busy as a working mom, and just want to say thank you for taking the time to make these posts, and your transparency on brand and sizing. So refreshing.

Kim, thank you so much! I am making this up as I go. It has been absolutely lovely to meet people here and it has been so nice to start writing again. Thank you so much for taking the time to write this comment to me. I really meant a lot to read (I think it's easy to feel like there's no one else on the other side of the screen for all of us). So hi, it's so nice to meet you. x Meg

Is there a better place to get a pulse on what’s cool? Me thinks no. I’ll wear anything I see Parisians in.

I love to follow street style accounts rather than influencers. I spent three months in Europe for a temporary job assignment last year and was so surprised the difference between what’s on the streets vs what’s on more curated Insta accounts. I really love @watchingnewyork @londonersinlondon, @parisiensinparis, @paris.street.style, @milanesiamilano, and @copenhagenfrow

All of my inspiration (almost 100% of it) comes from street style. Thank you so much for these great recs! I'm going to follow now x Meg

Yes!! Plus no one on those accounts are #ads or sponsored or PR gifts. I also find photos on those accounts keep me out of the consumer loop I find myself in because a link to a piece isn’t readily available.

I spend more time on Pinterest than I do on instagram when I feel I'm in a rut. The archive of photos is always helpful for me because it pulls in so many references. Highly suggest a Pinterest spiral! x

Exactly!! And you see that people’s clothes are actually worn - not all brand new! And that it looks super cool to remix your own stuff.

What white dress were you wearing on the bicycle ride story? Thanks for your content! I love it. My sister and I got one of your necklaces for our other sisters birthday and she was so happy!

This is fabulous! Love the French for being classic and elegant. Besides the birks and other Summer pieces you noticed?

Yes! On the train to vacation most women were carrying Longchamp bags (the somewhat larger carryalls). Dorsey used them too but I have never thought of buying one until seeing so many at the train station. They really are chic and easy. I'm late to this but plan to participate!
