3 styles that caught my eye and why I keep coming back to them.

Dear Reader,

A few weeks before I delivered my daughter I was diagnosed with DVT blood clots and I was immediately taken off bedrest (a silver lining if you can believe it). The next day I took myself to look at sandals and bought a pair I’ve worn 6 summers in a row (I tried to find another pair from the designer but they were nowhere to be found). To this day everyone refers to them as my bedrest sandals.

If you’re looking for t-strap sandals, here’s 3 styles I’ve acquired that work well for me, especially as I’m spending my summer in office preparing for the back half of the year. I have always preferred t-strap sandals to any other style. They work with anything and on anyone because they fade into the background. You hardly notice them. Like a good pair of denim or a blazer that elevates everything else in your closet.

They’re not a statement and I’ve always thought they were more sophisticated than cute.

Net-A-Porter Ancient Greek Sandals (exclusive to NAP). My jeans are old Levi’s and the blazer is an old men’s suiting blazer. I absolutely love this sandal. You don’t feel the hardware - which gives them personality - but doesn’t heat them up in the sun (the leather back is attached to the metal). Heavy? Not even slightly.

In the summer I like to throw all of my usual things in a Raffia tote for work. I bought this one last summer in France (it was very inexpensive) and the closest one I’ve found (by the same brand) is this one.

I was worried these might be uncomfortable - they’re not - but I had to wear them a few times to break them in. Mine fit TTS (in general I go down a half size for t-strap sandals but ordered these in my usual size).

Aquazzura T-Strap Sandal I’ve been looking for a t-strap nude sandal (the only other pair of nude sandals I swear by are these Tkees in Au Natural) but I put these on and they worked perfectly for me.

Tkees does a great basic t-strap sandal too ($80).

Ancient Greek Talia Sandal I have been looking for this exact pair of sandals for two years. They’re not a t-strap but they’re perfectly simple without being too much (or too little) sandal. Admittedly I found them they same night I bought the other two. Thinking I would send these back I ordered them just to try them. I’m only admitting to you that I threw the box away and put them in my closet.
