MAS... so awesome you pivoted to generously provide free content! I subscribe to multiple Substack feeds... yours is top tier 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 so I would happily switch to paid... funnily enough I was going thru my feeds today & clearing out SO many that offered ZERO interesting content sans paid subscription.. I was kinda like, fuck it, this is click bait. Such a great community on SS.. if one is able to remove the $ barrier... it’s a lovely move.. all these moms raising families... here in LA the WGA & SAG strikes.. I can really feel people getting squeezed. Thanks for all you’re doing to alleviate that pressure... not to mention the gorgeous invention of Dorsey which allows me to traipse around blithely draped in jewels xoxo

Thank you so much - what a lovely message to receive. At some point, I will probably need to move to paid - but today is not that moment. xx

Wow wow wow, Megan, you are blowing me away with your generosity. If it wasn’t noticed by everyone, know that it was noticed by me that you did NOT affiliate link. Beyond generous to produce this without it.

Hi Aisha! It's second hand from TheRealReal by Maryan Nasser Zadeh. I think it might be quite old, sadly! But check the real real for dresses often. They have so many great pieces.

Hi Meg! You are one of my favorite people on the internet- I can’t tell you how many gorgeous pieces I’ve scored on your recommendation (including those gucci x adidas pink gazelles, my god they’re perfect). Thank you for offering such lovely content for free πŸ™ for what it’s worth, I would absolutely be happy to pay for it!

I just had my first child 9 days ago (we’re doing fantastic) and thinking already about upgrading my diaper bag. I’m wondering, what did you use when you had your little one? Or do you have any brand recs that you love? Xoxox

Aubrey! This is such a kind message. Thank you so much. And I love those kicks! Did you see that Harry Styles wore them for his entire tour? For some reason that made me feel cool. Like, ok Meg, you've still kind of got it!

Congrats on your new baby! 9 days. What a little mush. I remember thinking to myself that newborns slept more during the day than I realized when my daughter was that little. I was so exhausted but so in love. I was terrible at breastfeeding! Just awful. Both of my breasts did not produce. I got no milk! I kept waiting for it to come in and it never did. I had to laugh about it.

I'm trying to remember what I used as a diaper bag and I want to say it was something simple like L.L. Bean. If I was going to do it again, I would probably use a Mark and Graham bag at the beginning because you can throw a lot into it and I would probably compartmentalize more things in my bag. But I'm a big bag person.

This is the bag that I use when I'm getting on planes with my daughter: https://www.markandgraham.com/products/mg-steeletex-waterproof-beach-tote/?pkey=cdiaper-bags

Or I'd do an L.L. Bean boat tote.

The first few months I had to carry so much extra stuff (swaddles, clothes, and more) that I just wanted to throw everything in and go. But around 6 months I started carrying a handbag and a bottle (with one diaper and wipes) that fit into the handbag and I would leave the extras in my car in case something happened. I did find that I didn't need to carry as much around with me as I thought.

Enjoy your time with your baby! Everyone says that it goes so fast but it's because it does. I would do anything to go back and do the past few years over again. I'd be more present. I'd soak it in. I was too worried about losing myself. In the end, I wish I had lost myself a little more.

It would have been good for me. x Meg

New motherhood means it’s taken me two weeks to reply to this...but I feel like you get it.

He’s such a squish and also so strong already. I’m still processing the fact that my body built him with his tiny dna instructions. Bodies are magic. Biology is so beautiful.

Thank you for such a thoughtful reply - for the bag recs, and for the musings/wisdom on motherhood. I already feel the time going so eerily fast and am constantly reminding myself that nothing needs to be rushed; trying to be international about going so slow to savor all of it.

This space that you’ve curated is truly a delight. Sometimes the internet can be so lovely. Xoxo

My parents gifted me a one of a kind woven tote when they visited a few islands. The gentleman who made it featured his bags by hanging them in a lovely beach side tree. I wish I could feature items where I work the same way.

I love it not only because my parents are incredibly generous but it’s one of a kind. You will find your own version to love.

I love this story, Jennifer. These really are bags that you keep forever. I brought a bag home from Spain that was very inexpensive, a few years ago, and I still use it every summer. It was an absolute pain in the bum to carry on the plane! But I did it (much to my husbands dismay) and I'm glad that I did.

Best size. I just ordered my first two Dorsay necklaces one in emerald and one in diamond. Very excited. Am I dreaming you made it in ruby too?

You have excellent style and such a charming writer.

Hi Jen! I'm not sure of the name but it's the biggest wallet they offer with a snap closure. They offer a smaller size and a small size in most stores. It's just this bigger size that's now out of production! I'd go with the medium size, personally. I love this wallet but it could be a clutch. x
