The Straw Bag I've Carried All Summer

...and will into fall.

Dear Reader,

I do love a straw bag that’s not identifiable in summer. While I was in France I discovered this brand which truly has the most beautiful and simple designs. If you’re looking for a more classic French bag (similar to the ones Jane Birkin carried) here’s a link to some I was looking at earlier today on Etsy. The one I’m wearing works well for the heat of summer (and it fits in a bike basket) but I’ll wear it into fall, too.

In July, less is more. But as the weather begins to cool down, these are great bags to throw on for colder months. I tend to carry bags within bags and I often use a straw bag as the outer shell after September. Straw bags are much more year round than we tend to give them credit for at first (my own case in point below).

My layered bag (sitting on my bedroom floor right now) will look something like this come the early months of autumn.
