Beautiful! Before I got engaged, I told my now-husband I wanted a family ring if there was one. He asked his mom, and she had quite a few actually, but he didn’t love any of them. So she suggested he take hers to give to me, which he did. I love it so much! She’s a truly incredible person and I love that she literally took the ring off her finger to give to me. Once I had kids, I stopped wearing it though, as it kept scratching them! So now I just wear my skinny, barely noticeable band. I love your emerald rings though, and have one on my wishlist for my tenth anniversary :) for days when I want a little extra something!
I love a barely noticeable band! When my daughter was really little I didn't wear any rings or earrings, too. Your mother-in-law sounds lovely. And I want to see this ring!
Lovely thoughts and a lovely exhortation to rethink rings. While I wear the same ring all the time (actually a stack) it has been on my middle finger for the last 5 years. Why? I like how it looks, it fits better, and it also sends a more ambiguous message, maybe I'm more private than I used to be.
Thank you so much for sharing this with me, Rebecca. It is always very meaningful to me when people say that something I've written or posted reminds them of their grandmothers.
I love that you shared this about your grandmother. It's so personal and special. The only piece I ALWAYS wear is my wedding band, which I wanted really really really slim. And then on top of it I stack or don't - vintage engagement ring, 5 year gift band, and rando fun bands, like a ruby one we got at the Brimfield fair. Mix and match metals etc. I did go with nothing today, because all the soap between the bands made my skin flaky. And it feels so exciting to put it on and "marry again." Thank you for sharing your story and style.
I really love to hear about how women wear their rings and wedding rings. Everyone is so different. I love a slim gold band. I think they're really chic.
Libby, hi! My husband and I were engaged in July and married in September. It was such a short engagement that everyone thought I was pregnant (I wasn't). I found a dress that Carolina Herrera made for a runway show that was never produced or sold anyone where. So I bought the runway sample. I absolutely loved it and it wasn't expensive because it was a sample.

LOVE this mindset! And her contemplating divorce every 9 months - LOL! What a fabulous woman inside & out!
It always made me laugh even though she never meant it.

Me too.
Thanks for sharing all the ways! Love that wedding photo too!
Thank you for this kind note! I saw this photo for the first time a few years ago. She looks so happy. It really made me smile.
Reading this brought to mind my sweet grandmother who passed away almost 20 years ago; her rings were her pride 💍💎🤍

love all the rings, Meg! I need to figure out my size! I agree with everything you wrote and I continue to be inspired by both you and your Nana.
Thank you so much, Maria! Ring sizing is tough. Very tough!
More tales of Dorsey and her style tips please! 🙏🏼 ♥️ also I just love her wedding day style - that fur over a white dress 😘👌🏽
Thank you so much, Camilla! She loved a big coat.
Love love love!❤️
Thank you, Mar!

So beautiful
Thank you, Debo. x
I’m the same way! I change mine up constantly and have collected different rings over the years. Some purchased, some gifted and some inherited
I love this!
Curious what you wore on your wedding day?!
