Dear Reader,
I’ve been mostly offline the past two weeks shuffling between meetings, work travel, and getting my daughter ready for kindergarten next year. My house is currently under a bit of construction, I’m on my second month living out of a suitcase, and honestly I don’t feel I have much to share that is of value this morning! I’m lately wearing 3 pairs of old Levi’s, the same grey sweater, this old Ralph Lauren button down, and DORSEY. The only things I packed from closet while I’m displaced.
As this substack transitions into its next phase you’ll notice some posts are coming directly from me (and I’ll share the things I like to wear) while others focus on more broad subjects (things I may not own or pieces I found years ago). This gives me the flexibility to write about the things I want to while taking a break here and there from from writing about my own style (a limited subject!). It also allows me to invite guest contributors to this substack. And tell you more about things I’m inspired by for future seasons.
Thank you so much to everyone who continues to read this Substack and roll with the punches. Your feedback, thoughts, and support are the only reason I’ve continued to write this column.
I’m currently searching for more old Ralph Lauren. Send leads!
All my very best,
Meg

I subscribe to a number of Substacks but I look forward to yours most of all. The emphasis on rewearing pieces, simplicity and just the right push of so inspiring. Thanks for continuing it!!!
We had a temporary placement in Europe for my husband’s job a couple years ago. I packed one suitcase for three months and essentially three seasons of weather. It ended up feeling so freeing and possibly the most stylish I have ever felt. Something about have a small selection of core pieces that I loved really helped me zero in on how I wanted to feel when I got dressed. (And honestly there were one or two pieces I didn’t even wear and ended up shedding before I returned.) I’ve been chasing that feeling ever since and am thinking it’s time for a serious closet purge.
