I find products from instagram, WSJ style section and following people like you and Becky and Leandra. But I would LOVE to find influencers/advertisers (I love your thought here!) who are my age (53), my size (10-12) and in my region (Midwest). We are stylish people too!! I have been on the hunt for years...
Thank you for introducing me to lemon8! I’ve been saving outfits I like on my iPhone library for 2 years now in a bid to create my own Pinterest board of my own wardrobe - something to inspire me on the days I feel meh and like I have nothing to wear and a bid to re-use and re-style my existing pieces instead of buying new. Going to try out moving this to lemon8! I’m katiemcnaughton if anyone wants to check it out 🥰
‘People as “influencers” was the start. People as publishers is the end game.’
ICONIC. Succinct.
Love everything you do and style Meg. We were in touch last year - would love you to see what I’ve been up to on Substack with styling and essays 😘 Camilla x
My Grandmother sound similar to yours and it was such a fresh perspective to start following you. I feel as if I’m getting style and education all in one!
I starting following stylist Allison Bornstein after seeing her on a Violette fr. Video. She’s gotten me to shop my own closet more and be more considerate of what I purchase which was huge for me as an Assistant manager in a small boutique. I’m also a mom of two boys so I appreciate all you have on your plate! I have the Moss necklace on my wishlist and cannot wait to see what else Dorsey creates.
I agree with this — “If content looks like an ad, and feels like an ad, your customers will think it’s an ad. Consumers … want none of it.” There are people I started following years ago because I shared their style and it’s been hard to see more and more of their content transform into clear ads. I know that’s totally unfair — they’re entitled to earn a living — but I miss the authenticity.
I almost exclusively discover products through individuals I follow on Instagram. Sometimes people I see in public. I read your 13 thing ls article and found addt’l products while perusing other articles. Very new to lemon8. Right now, I find that platform more difficult to shop from because I’m just getting brand names rather than specific links. But, I think in the future, that will be my go to if they’re able to work out that kink.

Love it! Which store in LA is carrying Toteme?
