Dear Reader,
On January 3rd I found myself standing on a beach by myself wondering what I should do with this substack column. I considered closing it. Deleting every single post. And removing the app.
That’s unlike me. I’ve built this community over the course of two years. From one reader to many more of you.
Then it hit me.
I fell out of love with my writing my substack column last year.
I’ve sat with this realization for days. I’ve thought about it at stop lights. Waiting for meetings to start on Zoom. Looking into space waiting for a coffee.
I consider myself to be a creative person. I’ve been this way my entire life. I like to be on sets. In the weeds. Behind a camera. Dressing a model. Slouching a coat. Changing a shoe. Adding a necklace. Sitting next to a monitor. I like to make something from nothing.
So in 2025, that’s exactly what I’m going to do with this space. I’m going to create and share unique imagery. From street style caught on my iphone to set style. Small campaigns shot on my iphone. Bigger shoots captured on film by some of my favorite photographers. Style stories (with links) created by me. And, yes, many selfies.
Fashion is not about individual links or pieces. It’s about how it’s pulled together. It’s about how it’s worn.
Context matters.
I’m committed to one year only of this project. One year of creating editorial content and iphone street style driven stories. It’s something I’ve wanted to do forever. The risk is that this may not unfold the way I see it in my head. It’s not something I’ve tried here. I’m open to that, too.
A paid tier will be added for those interested (free columns will continue to be a part of this space). Thank you to all of the brands who have so generously offered to get involved and support this idea.
Some of the items you’ll see here won’t belong to me. I’ll be calling them in from brands to borrow. In the early 2000’s that’s how most fashion imagery was shot.
I’ve never done this before but I’m ready to try something new.
Hang in there with me. The initial phase of this will be trial and error. Thank you for being WIPOT readers. I had to try something new this year. I’m going to start slow.

I love the idea of this. Imagery is so much more exciting and personal to me. Can’t wait to follow along 🫶🏻
Way to go! I applaud your creative instincts! Thank you!
